Virginia Tech wouldn't go down without a fight in their first NCAA Baseball Tournament appearance since 2000. The Hokie bats woke up to pummel Bucknell.
The player of the game was easily Buddy Sosnoskie who went 3-5, two of which were home-runs, with two runs scored and a whopping six RBI.
At the end of the second inning, the score was 9-0 in favor of Virginia Tech.
The Hokies continued their dominance into the ninth inning racking up a total of 16 runs.
The Hokies end up with the win against Bucknell: 16-7
The winning pitcher for the Hokies was Manny Martir who had a poor outing all things considered. Martir went for four innings while allowing four runs to score, three of them earned.
[EDIT: My prior information was incorrect. The Hokies will be playing The Citadel again.]
