Virginia Tech Steals Victory From The Jaws Of Defeat In Cassell Against Boston College

The Virginia Tech men's basketball team stole an ACC win in the last seconds against ACC contender Boston College.

After a very strong first half the Hokies held a 9 point lead going into halftime.

I want to take a moment to congratulate the winner of $10,000 at halftime who drained a half court shot. It is these moments that make college sports great, but I digress.

The second half started off hot for BC as they drained 3-pointer after 3-pointer. The game was back and forth for the next seven minutes as the Hokies and Eagles traded baskets. The game saver was Dorenzo Hudson for the Hokies who scooped up a last second rebound and scored on a layup with 5 seconds left.

The Eagles got the ball back and took it the entire length of the court before some stifling Tech defense forced a strip on the ball to close out the game.

Virginia Tech: 63 Boston College: 62

Virginia Tech moves to 15-3 on the season and 2-2 in ACC play. The Hokies play the University of Virginia Cavaliers at UVA this Thursday, January 28th.
